Ben was born and reared in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and made his way to Louisiana when his family moved to Shreveport in August of 1989.

Upon moving to Shreveport, Ben enrolled in Loyola College Prep and graduated in 1991. He then enrolled in LSU in the fall of ’91, earning his BS in 1996. After LSU, Ben enrolled in Southern University and earned his JD in 1999.

Ben took the State Bar Exam in the summer of ’99 and was sworn into the State Bar of Louisiana in New Orleans on October 15, 1999.

Within two years of being sworn in, Ben was fortunate enough to strike out on his own and open his own law practice, with an emphasis on personal injury, criminal defense, workers’ compensation.

Ben is sworn in to practice in all Louisiana District Courts and the United States District Courts for the Western and Middle Districts of Louisiana.

Ben is married to the former Linda Jeannette Risor of Beaumont, Texas and they have two dogs, Cooper and Sue Belle. Ben and his wife are also expecting twins in April of 2004.
